Asexuality is a sexual orientation (like being gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc.)
It is defined as a lack of sexual attraction; an asexual person is someone who does not experience sexual attraction to anyone, and/or does not experience desire for sexual contact
Asexuality is not celibacy, which is the conscious decision to abstain from sexual contact with other individuals
At least 1% of people are believed to be asexual
